Blog 62: Bugs

Something that scares me is definitely bugs.  I absolutely hate bugs more than anything in the entire world.  They are so ugly and creepy and they are everywhere and they bite people and I just don’t understand what good they do.  If I see a spider I will freak out.  You might think that I’m crazy but I’m really creeped out by them.  My dad has to kill it for me.  The worst experience that I ever had with a bug was when I was 8 and me and my cousin Zachary were swinging on my grandparent’s swing set in Kentucky.  Little did we know there was a hornet’s nest on the bottom of one of the swings.  We found out real fast once we sat down and they started swarming us and attacking us.  I was stung four times and Zach was stung three and it was so painful.  They got so swollen and I’m pretty sure we cried for days.  Ever since then I have been afraid of bees too and I get real freaked out when one is near me.  I am very thankful that I have not seen any type of bug in my dorm room this year.  I’m sure that they are everywhere around here and probably worse than the ones that I see at home but I’m glad that they stay hidden.  The animals around campus are really weird though.  The squirrels walk next to people and the geese/duck things that hang out by mirror lake are so strange looking.

  1. Bugs can definitely be creepy. When I went to Costa Rica the bed I slept in was outside, and there was a net around the bed to keep bugs out. I would turn on a flashlight at night and not be able to see beyond the net because there were so many enormous bugs completely covering it.

  2. I actually kind of like bugs. Mostly bees, because they're actually adorable. Wasps though, wasps are the worst things ever.
